Our simple to use damp proofing membrane kit 1×20 Metre PB2 Mesh stops rising damp, penetrating damp and difficult salt contamination problems.

The kit contains everything you need to dampproof twenty linear metres

What’s in the kit?

  • 1 roll of x 1 x 20m membrane roll/ 2.5mm Mesh
  • 250 plaster plugs
  • 1 x 8/160 SDS drill bit
  • 100mm x 10m Butyl Fleece Over Tape

Can be used on :

  • Brick
  • Concrete
  • Block
  • Stone

Best used for :

  • Dampproofing
  • Penetrating damp
  • Dry line, render or tile directly onto membrane
  • Dry lining after insertion of a damp proof course
  • Perfect for chimney breasts
  • Forming a thermal layer which helps warm the surface and control surface condensation

Cut the membrane to the desired size and  place it on the wall to be dampproofed with mesh facing outwards.

Drill & fix with the included polypropylene plaster plugs and then apply wall finish.

A) Clean the substrate to remove all loose debris and organic matter. Plaster should be removed as it can soften over time, which will weaken the fix of the membrane to the wall. If the wall render is in
good condition, it does not have to be removed and the membrane can be fitted directly over. If the render is damaged, local repairs may be required.

B) Loose or crumbling render should be removed and local repairs made. If the render is in very poor condition, all of it may need to be removed. Obtain as flat a surface as possible. If the wall is
undulating, better results are produced if the wall surface is dubbed-out flat with sand & cement prior to installation of the membrane rather than dubbing out over the top of the membrane.

C) A flat uniform surface to the substrate means that the plaster or render above the membrane will be uniform also and less likely to have cracking caused by differential thicknesses. If evidence of bacterial
growth can be seen, use a fungicidal product prior to the fitting of the membrane. If any evidence of wet rot or dry rot is seen, have it dealt with by a qualified remedial specialist.

D) If a new slab is to be laid as part of the works, it is preferable to fit the membrane prior to the laying of the floor slab with the floor DPM extending upwards in front of the Platon PB2 ready for the concrete
